Is It Possible to Delete the Source Store After Migration?

Yes, once your full migration is complete and you have verified that all data transferred correctly, you can delete your source store.


Your target store operates completely independently. There is no ongoing connection between the two stores after the migration is done.


Before You Delete: Important Checklist


1. Switch Your Domain First

If your source store is using a custom domain (e.g., yourstore.com), you need to point that domain to your new store before deleting the old one.

How to switch your domain:

  • Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains)

  • Update the DNS records to point to your new store

  • If migrating to Shopify, go to Settings → Domains and connect your domain

  • DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate globally

If you delete the source store before switching the domain, your customers may be unable to reach your store during the transition.

Please note that domain management is not part of our service, this needs to be handled directly through your domain registrar. If you need help with this step, we recommend reaching out to your registrar's support team.

2. Verify Your Data

Before deleting, confirm that all key data has been migrated correctly:

  • Products, categories, and images

  • Customers and their order history

  • Orders and statuses

3. Understand What You Will Lose

Once the source store is deleted, the following features will no longer be available:

If you plan to use either of these features in the future, keep your source store active until you no longer need it.



After Deleting the Source Store

Your target store will continue to work normally. All migrated data: products, customers, orders, remains intact and fully accessible in the new store.
