Every e-commerce platform uses its own set of order statuses. For example, what one platform calls "Pending Payment," another might call "Awaiting Payment" or simply "Pending."
When migrating to Shopify, these statuses need to be matched, or "mapped" to the closest equivalent in Shopify. This process is called order status mapping.
Why Does It Matter?
Without proper mapping, orders may arrive in Shopify with incorrect or missing statuses, making it harder to manage fulfillment, refunds, and customer communication after migration.
How to Set It Up?
Order status mapping is configured before starting the migration:
Log in to your Migrationpro account.
Open your migration and click Configuration in the left-hand menu.
Scroll down to the Order Status Mapping section.
Match each source store status to the appropriate Shopify status.
Save the configuration and continue with the migration.
Do I Always Need to Do This?
Not always. For some platforms, Migrationpro maps order statuses automatically. If your platform supports auto-mapping, this step will be handled for you.
