Will customers' order history be available to them after the migration?

Learn how Shopify manages customer accounts during migration, including access to order history.

When a customer is imported into a Shopify store, only their order history and customer information are transferred. By default, a customer account is not automatically created. Key points:

  • To view their previous history, customers must create an account via the front end of the site.

  • Alternatively, merchants can invite customers to create an account from the admin section.

  • Until an account is created, customer order history is visible only in the Shopify admin dashboard.

Customers and orders will still be visible in the admin dashboard, even without account creation, ensuring merchants have full access to their details
