Will customers be able to enter their Shopify accounts?

There are two ways customers can access their accounts in Shopify:

1. Password-Free Login (Recommended by Shopify):
Customers can log in using a 6-digit code sent to their email — no password needed.

2. Customer Account Import in Shopify

  • When customers are migrated, accounts are not automatically created.

  • Only customer information (e.g., name, email) and order history (If orders migrated too) are migrated.

  • Customers must create an account on the storefront to access their data.

Steps to Invite Customers to Create an Account:

  1. Go to the Customers page in the Shopify Admin Dashboard.

  2. Select the customer.

  3. Click "Invite" at the top to send an account creation email (via Shopify).

Admin Access:
Until customers create an account, their details and order history are visible only in the Admin Dashboard.

Unfortunately, Shopify does not support the automatic import of passwords due to the sensitivity of this data.
