Introduction
When a customer is migrated to the Shopify store, an account is not created for that customer by default. What is actually migrated is the customer's order history and customer information. However, the customer would still have to create an account in Shopify with their old email, or, at the top of the customer's page in the admin section, you would need to invite them to change their password.
There are two ways to send account activation invitations to Shopify customers:
Send invitations one-by-one
Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard
Click Customers
Enter one specific customer account
Click More Actions - > Send Account Invite
Customize the template as you wish
Click Review email -> Send email
Send invitations at once
You can use the Bulk Activation Sender application to send all of your customers an account activation at once. To do that follow these steps:
Install Bulk Activation Sender application
After the installation, you'll be redirected to the new page. Click Next
Keep in mind
Until an account is activated by the client, only you will have access to the customer order history in the admin section. This is the Shopify Rules. However, you will see customers and orders on your Shopify store admin dashboard
